Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, for the piano

Virtuoso Vladimir Rumyantsev has recorded the mammoth, eight-section work for solo piano, inspired by the book of the same name by Yuval Noah Harari. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind for piano, after various performances of sections at the Mannes School of Music and private homes, has been premiered at New York's legendary Klavierhaus on 2/1/24.

The Sono Luminus studios in Boyce, Virginia, is the setting for the world premiere recording. It will be released on the Sono Luminus label in March 2025
